Ventielbehuizing
De meestvoorkomende materialen voor de ventielbehuizing zijn messing, roestvast staal en nylon. Messing is het meestgebruikte materiaal voor magneetventielen. Het is zeer robuust en bestand tegen vele stoffen, maar bijvoorbeeld minder geschikt voor zeewater of demiwater. Roestvast staal is aan te bevelen bij corrosieve media, zoals zeewater. Nylon is de meest prijsgunstige variant, heeft goede mechanische eigenschappen en is geschikt voor een veelvoud aan stoffen.

Nylon | Prijsgunstige en redelijk goede mechanische en chemische eigenschappen. Veel gebruikt voor beregening en kleine huishoudelijke apparatuur. |
Afdichtingsmateriaal
EPDM (Ethyleen – Propyleen – Dieen Monomeer), FKM (Fluorrubber, Viton), PTFE (Teflon) en NBR (Nitrilbutadieenrubber of Nitrilrubber) zijn de meest gebruikte afdichtmaterialen. Voor (heet) water wordt EPDM aanbevolen, voor (pers-)lucht, olies en brandstoffen wordt meestal FKM aanbevolen. NBR is een synthetisch polymeer en geschikt voor neutrale vloeistoffen zoals water of hydraulische olie bij temperaturen tot ongeveer 75°C. EPDM en FKM hebben meestal betere eigenschappen en het wordt aanbevolen om één van deze stoffen te kiezen in plaats van NBR. Bovendien is tegenwoordig de prijs van NBR, EPDM en FKM vrijwel gelijk. PTFE (Teflon) is het meest inerte materiaal van de vier stoffen. Het is resistent tegen bijna alle stoffen. Het is vrij hard, wat het geschikt maakt voor hogere werkdrukken en temperaturen. Let op dat verschillende factoren invloed kunnen hebben op de specifcatie, zoals bijvoorbeeld omgevingstemperatuur, concentratie en werkdruk.

Let op dat de compabiliteit sterk beïnvloed kan worden door factoren zoals temperatuur en concentratie van het medium. Magneetventielshop.nl heeft deze tabel met zorg opgesteld, maar is niet verantwoordelijk voor eventuele fouten in de tabel. Controleer altijd goed of de materialen van het ventiel compatibel zijn met het gebruikte medium.

- BP = kookpunt
